Yellow hemp is the one thing sure to be found in every piper’s case.  Use it on drones, pipe chanter reeds, practice chanter reeds, practice chanters.

Non wax hemp is usually used on areas of a bagpipe which must move smoothly, i.e. the drone tuning pins.
